CHURCH ON THE OCEANS

A free training course for Christian seamen.

A church is not a building or necessarily a big group. When two or three people are gathered in the name of Jesus, it is a Christian fellowship or a church (Matthew 18:20). It is the will of our Lord, that everyone attends regular meetings of a church (Hebrews 10:25). How is this possible for sailors, who spend many months far away from home? The answer to this question is the “CHURCH ON THE OCEAN.”

God did not just give you the job on board just to earn money. As well as this he wants to use you in building his kingdom among your companions. Do you feel unworthy, too weak, not equipped? You have the opportunity to attend a four day training course in our seamen's center in Intramuros, Manila. Take the unique opportunity during your next vacation – even if you have already been a church leader before. Experienced teachers will present helpful lectures, which give you real inspiration and motivation. Through group sharing with other seafarers, you will learn from each other. As well as this, helpful material (books, bible courses, CD's…) will be given to you. Finally, you will receive a certificate and will be sent out with the blessings of a pastor. The training course is free of charge. However, a donation to cover the expenses is highly appreciated. Please get in touch as soon as possible with our port chaplains in Manila.

The training course CHURCH ON THE OCEAN will be conducted four times a year: always the third week of January, April, July and October.
