For many seafarers, Christmas is the loneliest time of the year. No matter where a seafarer may come from or what religious background he or she has, one of his or her greatest desires is to spend Christmas at home with his or her family. But due to various reasons this is often not possible. We regularly meet seafarers, who have not been able to be at home for Christmas for up to 15 years. This is the time in which most seafarers feel their loneliness and isolation the most.
